Narrative Theory

--what have you learnt from completing the narrative and editing workshops about how to film a music video
-Watching the final outcome-how are music videos different from other media

-What I learnt about music videos already is that the narrative you choose will mean something incompletely different on its own than with a song. When put with the song the narrative will either fit but with an alternative meaning or it won't fit at all and look more funny than anything.
-I have also learnt that

-After watching the final music outcome the narrative looked as if it fit with the song however it was made uncertain due to everyone singing about who to side with in the song. The feedback we got also showed that the narrative looked like it was a casual break-up and then the guy says something horrible about the girl and it ends in the girl getting angry and slapping him. The actual narrative was supposed to be friends and then one of them spreading a rumour then finds out and gets angry. As you can see with the song it's taken in a completely different way.
-When the actual narrative was explained people found it wierd that it wasn't a couple because with the song it made more sense the other way.
-It proved Andrew Goodwins's theory quite well as it did coincide with 'Music videos are simply extensions of the lyrics' because it showed that with the music the video alters perspective that we view the music video. This proves that he has some basis on his theory.
